Motive Power

Diesel Locomotives
All excursions over the Everett Railroad are powered by one or more of our three diesel locomotives: 707, 1712 and 1828. These diesels are used by the Everett Railroad in regular freight service.
Steam Locomotives
The Everett Railroad also rosters two steam locomotives: Alco 2-6-0 #11 and Baldwin 2-8-0 #38. These locomotives are undergoing restoration and are not currently used on our railroad.
Passenger Cars

Coaches
The backbone of our excursion fleet are three former-Delaware Lackawanna & Western (DL&W) Multiple-Unit (MU) cars that have been converted to coaches. These three cars, numbers 103 through 105, are owned by the Horseshoe Curve Chapter of the National Railway Historic Society in Altoona. Coach 105, the Mountain View, is shown at left.

Open Car 729
On special occasions, your excursion train might include Hollidaysburg & Roaring Spring Open Car 729. This car was rebuilt in 2006 from Pennsylvania Railroad Pullman 8663, the Lake Girard.
Cabooses

Everett Railroad 91517
Almost all of our excursion trains include caboose 91517, in which patrons can choose to ride at additional fare. This car, which was completely rebuilt in 2007, dates back to 1942 when it was built for the Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) as their 91517. The car was acquired by the Everett Railroad from Conrail, the successor to CNJ, in 1986.
